Alaska Snow Safety Summit

Advancing avalanche safety in Alaska for the general public

The 2015 event is being organized and presented once again by the Alaska Avalanche Information Center with support from the Foraker Group, First National Bank Alaska, Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and Prince William Sound Community College Outdoor Studies Group. Agencies participating include a wide range of public and private companies. To get involved contact to register or link directly to registration here.

This year's Snow Safety Summit was made possible thanks to dedication and commitment from the Alaska Avalanche Information Center (AAIC) Board of Directors and support from the Foraker Group and the BP Energy Center. No revenue was raised for this effort and all administrative costs were paid by the AAIC. This was done because the AAIC directors believe it is in the best interest of the general public for Alaska to have a statewide avalanche safety center where residents and visitors can get timely information and training opportunities for traveling in mountains capable of avalanches.
